I had no idea how glossy black this stone would look when polished. Exactly what colouring is in the stone is not known until completion. Veins and pockets of different shades are often hiding within the stone and only revealed as you cut into it.

Many hours of sanding and then a wax polish finish brings out the depth and brilliance. There is often a vast distance between the colour a stone starts and the colour it finishes.
