My encaustic work explores memories and our relationship to them. I am interested in discovering how the emotional memory of a place can shift and drift from the reality of a place, experiences stitching together like dreams, hazy and half remembered.
Using my photography as a base, I deconstruct images of textures, elements and landscapes, layer their transfers with encaustic wax and create compositions that hover in the spaces in between those experiences.
