I started working with stone in 2003, through a community arts class. I took weeks to even figure out what the stone should (or could) be. But I was hooked. Two years in London gave me an opportunity to dedicate time to a weekly practise and a deeper familiarity of tools and techniques. Since then, I've continued to explore a variety of stone - from soft soapstone, to harder limestones and alabaster, and have recently gotten a piece of Vancouver Island marble that I'm very excited to try.
